Found a great video on YouTube today I have to share. This is a live concert of the J Geils Band recorded in 1977 at Winterland in San Francisco. I haven’t seen too much early video footage of them, so this was a special find. Well before they started getting nationally famous with the “Love Stinks” and “Freeze Frame” albums, so just raw and awesome!
They were one of my favorite “party” bands to listen to when I was in high school and college. Loved listening to their live albums “Full House” and “Blow Your Face Out” driving around cranked up with the windows down. I still remember my first year in college, Freeze Frame was really popular by then, we stuck the speakers out my fourth floor dorm window and cranked up “Flamethrower” and watch other students walk by wondering what was going on. A few would start jumping a dancing around to the song though. Fun times.
Most of you probably don’t want to go through a two hour set, but at least try to listen to some of my favorites. Guarantee you’ll smile. 🙂
